Washing Machine Not Draining: What to Check First
Simple, non-invasive checks for a washing machine that stops with water still in the drum.
If a washing machine stops with water in the drum, first avoid forcing the door open. The cause can range from a blocked drain path to a program or pump-related issue.
Check the drain path
Make sure the drain hose is not sharply kinked or trapped behind the appliance. If your model has a user-accessible filter, follow the manufacturer instructions before opening it because water may be released.
Share the error information
If the display shows an error code, note it along with the model number and what happened immediately before the cycle stopped. Avoid dismantling electrical or pump components; include those details in the service enquiry instead.
