Refrigerator Not Cooling? Safe Checks Before Booking Repair
Check temperature settings, door seals, ventilation and food placement before deciding whether a refrigerator needs repair.
A refrigerator that feels warmer than usual does not always point to one specific fault. Begin with simple checks that do not require opening electrical panels or handling refrigerant components.
Check the basics
Confirm that the appliance has power, the temperature control has not been changed accidentally, and the door closes fully. Packages pressing against the door or a dirty seal can prevent a tight closure. Also leave enough space for internal air vents where the manufacturer requires it.
When repair may be needed
If the refrigerator continues to warm, runs continuously, makes a new mechanical sound, or shows repeated temperature problems, record the model number and symptoms. That information helps narrow down the service request before a visit.
